The rooftop of 230 Fifth Avenue
First used for camping, then luxury promotions around the world, weather-proof bubble igloos have arrived in New York City.
The Rooftop Garden and Penthouse Lounge at 230 Fifth is perhaps the first NYC hotspot to jump on the trend. The bar has set up four transparent bubble tents, featuring 360-degree views of Manhattan, that can be privately booked for parties for $500, according to the New York Observer.
“The tents – or FIFTHgloos as we’re calling them – give a new, whimsical all-weather winter dimension to the roof deck. Everyone who sees them wants to reserve one, because they’re so completely unique!” Sal Rozenberg, director of 230 FIFTH, told the Observer. [NYO] –Christopher Cameron
